Erin – these are some of these issues with new format. Feels like IT was the one who organized this, not a medical provider. Please let Suzi know. Previous format was really nice but detest current format. I know change is hard, but when change goes from good to bad, that’s a problem. • Minor, but colors too fluorescent; can live with that, but very harsh & busy • CMP now separated into Hepatic Panel and Renal Function, which also has electrolytes, but alphabetized instead of organized by organ system, difficult to explain to patients w/o making mess of paper while trying to teach patients what levels are. Have to write “electrolytes” or “kidney” or “blood sugar” or “serum osmolality” next to each random result instead of using bracket to identify the electrolytes, kidney function, glucose, serum osmolality. Interrupts flow. • CBC needs go back to typical CBC format, not alphabetized • Now abnormalities in red, even if in desired range for what we’re doing; used to be able to cross out “H” or “L”, but now just have to explain & reassure patient • Would prefer synopsis of abnormalities page to be at the back; since it’s first sheet, it requires extra time to explain to patient why all this red is all over the first page. It’s alarming to patients and we’re going to explain all the abnormalities as we go along; this is created traffic Just did long lab and they alphabetized the lipid panel too. They don’t have ferritin with iron, instead have it with glucose. The Omega 3 index is a hot mess. We need to have discussion with Suzi with the providers. This does not flow AT ALL!
